** PJI CHALLENGES THREAT TO CHRISTIAN DISPLAYS ([link removed])

Pacific Justice Institute has urged the Dallas City Council ([link removed]) to reject or substantially revise a proposed amendment to the city’s special-events ordinance. PJI warned that the proposal could subject Christian displays on private property to permitting requirements, fees, insurance mandates and enforcement actions if they attract enough traffic or public attention. PJI also argued that the amendment gives officials too much discretion and could burden constitutionally protected speech and religious exercise.
