Renaming Lake Ontario is monumentally dumb.

It won't lower gas prices. It won't cut your grocery bill. It won't do one thing for your life. But, Donald Trump signed an order making it official — one of the Great Lakes is now "Lake America."

This is a manufactured crisis with a manufactured solution. It’s incredibly dumb by itself. Unfortunately, it’s part of a larger and more sinister assault on truth by the MAGA movement.

Look at our elections. Countless audits, investigations, and conspiracies — the verdict never changes: our elections are secure.

Every time their fraud is exposed, Trump and MAGA invent new even more extreme frauds to justify their conspiracies. Restrictions on voting. A campaign to gut voting by mail. Talk of stationing ICE agents at polling places. And a president who won't rule out sending in the National Guard — who says he'd do "anything necessary" and openly regrets not using troops to seize voting machines after 2020.

MAGA’s assault on the truth and our democratic institutions is relentless and extremely well funded. That’s why our work at Country First to defend our elections and aggressively pushback against Trump is so important, and that’s why your support is urgently needed.
