Friend,

Our U.S. Women's National Team had a fantastic win on Sunday -- and I could not be prouder! Today's parade, in New York's Canyon of Heroes, in celebration of their historic win is incredibly well-deserved.

But all this celebration must also serve as a reminder of how we have failed our female athletes. Because, for their outstanding victory and their sustained excellence, the athletes on the U.S. Women's National Team are being paid substantially less than their male counterparts.

This discrimination is flat-out WRONG. And it's an important reminder of the pay inequality that all women face, in workplaces across the nation and across industries.

That's why I'm calling on Senate Majority Leader McConnell to immediately bring the Equal Pay Amendment to the Senate floor, in honor of the incredible women who just won the World Cup. Add your name to my petition right now, and together we'll fight to ensure that America's winning team -- and women across the country -- are paid fairly.

I've already reached out to the team to offer my heartfelt congratulations and invite them to celebrate their victory here at the United States Senate. But that's not nearly enough.

All women deserve to be compensated fairly for their work. Period. The time to end gender pay discrimination is long overdue -- and together, we must make it happen.

Leader McConnell: The House has passed the Equal Pay Amendment. Don't you think it's about time to bring this fight to the Senate floor?

Add your name to my petition if you agree: Equal work deserves equal pay. And Leader McConnell should immediately bring the Equal Pay Amendment to the Senate Floor.

Thanks for being a part of this fight.

Sincerely,

Chuck Schumer
