First off, I want to thank you:

Because of grassroots Democrats like you, we had a strong August -- and I know we’re on a good path to protect and expand our Democratic Majority. Thank you.

But unfortunately, we cannot keep celebrating.

In the wake of yet another tragic mass shooting in West Texas this weekend, I’m calling on you once again to take a stand with me and demand Republicans take action on gun violence prevention.

Will you sign my gun violence prevention petition straight away?

I know there are common-sense solutions to gun violence. In fact, our House Majority passed universal background check legislation in our first 1OO days.

But I’m sad to say our legislation sits untouched in Mitch McConnell’s self-appointed legislative graveyard.

And I know Republicans will continue to put the needs of the gun lobby above the lives of Americans and will continue to obstruct our Democrats when we return to Washington next week.

That’s why I need you with me again.

I need you to stand up to McConnell’s obstruction and DEMAND Republicans take action to protect our communities from gun violence.
