Democrats are tied or ahead in four Republican-held Senate seats, according to recent polling, a year after the same map was described as out of reach.
I don't believe anyone is served by false optimism, so let me be clear: this is an opening, not a guarantee of victory. Now, we have to act.
So here's what our path to the Senate looks like:
[1] Defending the battlegrounds we hold. Several competitive seats are already in Democratic hands and need sustained support to stay there.
[2] Winning the open seats. Open-seat races are where resources make the clearest difference — and where early investment goes furthest.
[3] Defeating vulnerable GOP senators. Voters' discontent only turns into flipped seats if our challengers have what they need to make their case.
