Dear John,

The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on a lot of folks in this community, but so many North Texans have stepped up and made huge sacrifices to help. These essential workers have been working so hard on the frontlines to help fight this virus and provide important services, and on this Labor Day, I want to recognize them.

I am grateful to the nurses and doctors working day and night in our hospitals, the dedicated postal workers delivering our mail, and the folks making our food and stocking the shelves. I appreciate our DART bus drivers, nursing home workers, and truck drivers keeping our supply chain moving. The list goes on and on.

These folks have always been essential to our way of life and our economy. And now, this crisis is shining a spotlight on them and why they are all so important.

As we reflect on Labor Day and the necessary work to ensure our economy works for every North Texan, I want to take a moment to say thank you to these heroes who keep us going. Our entire North Texas community owes you a debt of gratitude.
