Team,
Social Security, the 40 hour work-week, the minimum wage, and even weekends -- all of these benefits and protections wouldn't exist without the hard work of generations, and the women and men who joined together to demand them. Because of unions, working families have a seat at the table and can negotiate for improved working conditions that benefit us all.
In my time in Congress, I've been proud to work alongside unions for the rights of working families, but the fight is far from over. Every worker deserves dignity, respect, and the ability to provide for themselves and their families.
While Trump and national Republicans have sought to end collective bargaining, and strip away workers' rights, I’ve fought back to protect working families. We still have a long way to go to strengthen unions, raise the minimum wage, and end discrimination in the workplace, but our families are worth fighting for.
I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. From my family to yours, Happy Labor Day!
Thank you,
Andy
