Dear friend,

What does Labor Day have to do with reproductive freedom? Everything.

Anti-abortion legislators persistently target low-income communities, using discriminatory bans on insurance coverage and federal funding to push abortion access out of reach for so many, including those who depend on Medicaid and Title X funding for care.

Your economic status should never determine if you have access to abortion care.

These egregious attacks disproportionately harm Black, Indigenous, and people of color -- and on top of barriers to care exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, access to reproductive health care, including abortion, is pushed entirely out of reach for entire communities.

We must continue to fight for proactive policies that address intersectional barriers to access and center economic and racial justice. This year, we've partnered with organizations across the country to increase access to care, pushing forward initiatives that allocate city funding for abortion care and logistical support and legislation that expands abortion coverage for people regardless of immigration status.

On Labor Day, a day that commemorates the contributions of workers across the country, we want to affirm we will continue to center economic justice and fight for a world where everyone has access to abortion care.
