I'm not the type of person to leave things up to chance.

As a meteorologist, I had a responsibility to give folks in my community information they needed to prepare for the week ahead. Local parents, teachers, and businesses all depended on it. And if a severe storm hit, I knew what I said on TV might be the difference between life and death.

I’m not leaving anything to chance as we close in on Election Day either. 

Unfortunately, as it stands we're not quite halfway toward meeting our August goal.

Even in the warm weather, this team is not letting up – I am getting legislation passed, meeting with voters across the district at events, and building coalitions with Members of Congress and national organizations. 

But in the only competitive seat in Illinois, that alone might not be enough. We need to show strength by building grassroots fundraising momentum.
