I’ve been running around the state, and I’m so full of gratitude.
We’ve spent the summer criss-crossing North Carolina on the Make Stuff Cost Less campaign tour – from Graham to Wilson to Asheville and more stops along the way.
We’re pounding the pavement and putting on the mileage because winning this battleground Senate race means reaching every voter we can across the state.
Now that we’re less than 70 days out from the election, we can’t pump the brakes anytime soon – but all this traveling comes with a hefty price tag. We need to raise $2 million before our end-of-month deadline on Monday night to fuel next month’s leg of the tour, so I have to ask: Can you please chip in $5 today to help us keep campaigning across the Tar Heel state? While talking with North Carolinians face-to-face, I keep hearing versions of the same thing at every stop:
🚨Basic necessities like groceries and gas are unaffordable for many.
🏠Buying a house seems impossible, especially for younger people.
🇺🇲There are those who believe the American Dream feels unattainable.
In short: Stuff costs too much, and politicians in Washington DC don’t seem to care.
When I hear that, I know it’s time to get to work – because we can do so much better. This campaign is about making sure voters know exactly what I plan to do as their next U.S. Senator.
I’m in this fight to put people before power, party and politics – just as I did over my eight years as Governor, by expanding Medicaid for hundreds of thousands of working North Carolinians, adding good-paying jobs, increasing teacher pay, expanding paid parental leave and more.
Now, I’m ready to keep up the fight in the U.S. Senate – but getting there won’t be easy. The GOP is flooding the airwaves with false attacks, so we need to keep showing up across North Carolina and winning folks onto our side. That said, staying on the road like this takes money (gas, materials, organizers), and our budgeting deadline is just hours away.
Every dollar we get toward our Make Stuff Cost Less tour goal will keep us on the road and meeting the voters who will decide this race – so, if you’re able, will you chip in $5 now [ [link removed] ], or anything you can to help us get there before our end-of-month deadline on Monday?
