Labor Day is normally a time for celebration -- filled with parades, barbecues, and events honoring all that unions have fought for and won for American workers.
But this Labor Day is different. Because instead of a strong working class, we are in the middle of an economic crisis caused by the worst pandemic in 100 years. Millions have lost their jobs. Corporate CEOs are continuing to get rich while working families are facing hunger and losing their homes.
And Matt Gaetz hasn't done a damn thing about it.
In fact, he's actively worked against workers by voting against the HEROES and CARES Acts, which provide critical relief to the working class through enhanced unemployment benefits, protections for essential workers, and cash payments.
It's clear Gaetz doesn't fight for workers -- and it's why workers aren't fighting for him.
The Florida AFL-CIO, American Federation of Government Employees, National Association of Social Workers, International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 991, and AFGE Local 1897 have endorsed my campaign. I don't take that support lightly -- unions and the workers they represent are facing unprecedented challenges.
Together we can restore honor and integrity to the district, and create an economy that works for workers, not just those at the top.
