Y'all, I hope you’re having a happy and safe Labor Day weekend. It’s thanks to the tireless work of the labor movement that we have this day to celebrate. Even more importantly, we have the labor movement to thank for so many things we take for granted: the weekend, paid time off, workplace health and safety protections, and much more.

My stepdad, who raised me like his own, died in a workplace accident. If it weren’t for the labor movement and unions across the country, many more families would suffer the same tragedy -- we wouldn’t have the workers’ rights, fair wages, or the safer workplaces that we have today. Every day, his death pushes me to fight for workers like him.

But Sen. Cornyn is fighting to undermine all that by working for special interests and DC bosses like Mitch McConnell -- not the hardworking families trying to put food on the table. We need to defeat Sen. Cornyn this November to ensure that we stand up for Texas families -- can I count on your help?
