Greetings from the nation’s capital, where the local mayor hopes to scrub the names of our nation’s Founders from every building and monument (see below). This week, we are encouraging everyone to sign our Citizen’s Police Pledge. Let’s show our men and women in blue that we have their backs. We also have two excellent resources to counter the left’s attempts to destroy our electoral system. All that, and more.
The Citizens’ Pledge to Support Police Gains Momentum <[link removed]>
In the face of lawless violence in our cities and efforts to defund the police in the name of “racial justice,” The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action for America have unveiled the Citizens’ Police Pledge. The pledge gets citizens on record as opposing any bill, resolution, or movement that defunds the police, and it already has nearly 50,000 signatures from citizens as well as federal, state, and local officials. You can help make this campaign go viral. Read, sign, and share the Police Pledge with your friends and family <[link removed]>.
Here’s Why Changing Our Electoral System Would Threaten Democracy <[link removed]>
As the presidential election draws nearer, leftist leaders have grown
bolder in their calls to fundamentally change America’s electoral system by abolishing the Electoral College and imposing universal mail-in voting. Experts at The Heritage Foundation have produced two excellent and engaging guides that explain why each would be disastrous. “The Essential Electoral College” e-book gives you everything you need to know about why the electoral college is so necessary, and is now available for free online <[link removed]>. You can learn more about the dangers of mail-in voting by watching Heritage’s latest video, Mail-In Voting and Voter Fraud: What You Need to Know <[link removed]>.
Cancel Culture Comes for the Washington Monument  <[link removed]>
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser recently created an advisory group to cleanse the nation’s capital of monuments, memorials, and facilities that honor “persons of concern.” The list of names to be erased reads like a who’s who of America’s founders. Joseph Loconte, director of Heritage’s Simon Center for American Studies, says the real “persons of concern” are “the radicals and fanatics whose self-righteous rage blinds them to the achievements of a democratic revolution that has liberated millions and promoted freedom and equality around the world.” Read Loconte’s full commentary to learn more about why the movement to demonize our Founders is a threat to all we hold dear in this country <[link removed]>.
