A CLOSER LOOK—Measles

There's a "reasonable chance" that the United States will lose its measles elimination status in October because of ongoing measles outbreaks in New York, according to Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD). This Health Affairs Blog post from June 2019 says that to fight the measles outbreak, health departments must balance civil liberties with civic accountability.
