Hey John -- it's Robert, Elaine's husband.

As Elaine likes to say, "Being in Congress is a team effort." While she's working hard to make sure that Coastal Virginians have a voice fighting on their behalf in Washington, I'm holding down the fort at home and mastering the art of the updo.

And while my hair-styling skills are still a work in progress, I'm proud to say that my better half has hit the ground running.

In just her first term in Congress, Elaine's had five bills passed and signed into law (more than any other freshman member) and was ranked the 3rd most effective member of the House!

Elaine is a natural leader -- when I met her in the Navy, she was already forging her own path as one of the first women in the Navy's nuclear power program and one of the first women to serve the entirety of her career on combatant ships.

But it's never been about her -- for Elaine, it's always been about stepping up to do what she can for this country, to do what's right. That's the kind of leadership we need more of in our government -- so John, will you chip in ahead of her critical FEC deadline at the end of this month to make sure she has the resources to defend this toss-up seat?

Elaine and I traveled around the world during our careers in the Navy. But Virginia is where we went back to school, started our business and where we raise our family.

Virginia is our home. And with your help, Elaine is going to do everything in her power to keep on fighting for it.

Thank you,

Robert
