I grew up in a housing project in Savannah, Georgia. Every morning, my father would wake me up at 6 a.m. and say, "Put your shoes on. There's something for you to do. I don't know exactly what it is yet, but be ready."

So I've spent my entire life trying to be ready for anything. Through hard work and determination, I was blessed to become the first member of my family to graduate from college. And 14 years ago, the kid who grew up in the projects was called to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s pulpit to serve as the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Now, I'm ready to make history by winning this Senate race and becoming Georgia's first-ever Black senator - but I can't do it without you: Please, will you donate $5 or more right now to flip Georgia blue and make our Congress reflect our country?

While my opponent, unelected Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA), is a former Wall Street exec who has cashed in on her public office and been accused of insider trading, I'm a pastor who's devoted my life to service. I'm running for Senate to stand up to corrupt leaders like Mitch McConnell and restore moral leadership to our government.

The Washington Post says winning this race is the key to Democrats taking back the Senate. Right now, we're running neck-and-neck with our opponent - but while she's spending $20 million of her personal fortune to buy this seat, we're running a people-powered campaign that depends on grassroots support. And unfortunately, at this critical moment, we're about to fall incredibly short of our daily fundraising goal.

In a race this close, falling short isn't an option - failing to keep pace for even a second could mean handing Senate control to Mitch McConnell for another two years. Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight says Democrats can take back the Senate, but we need to win in Georgia. That's why I have to ask:
