[Act Now] Defend rivers and salmon from toxic mining

Wild rivers are under threat from industrial-scale nickel mining. We’re taking
action to stop them — but we need your help.

An industrial mining company is seeking to explore and develop more than
17,000 acres of mining claims across the Smith and Rogue River basins, which
are home to a string of exceptional salmon strongholds from Southern Oregon to
Northern California.

Industrial-scale nickel mining would damage these remaining wild salmon and
steelhead runs for generations through strip mining, toxic pollution, and
habitat loss.

We can’t let this happen: Add your name to defend the Smith and Rogue Rivers
and protect wild salmon.

Salmon watersheds consist of free-flowing rivers and dense forests, which
provide clean drinking water and absorb carbon to slow climate change. Millions
of people rely on salmon for food and their economies.

Industrial nickel mining creates serious impacts for salmon watersheds,
communities, and economies built on outdoor recreation.

It’s simple: protect wild salmon and you protect healthy forests, a stable
climate, recreation opportunities, wild protein, and local jobs.

Add your name to protect wild salmon and keep stronghold rivers safe from
toxic mining.

We are working daily to advance state protections for the threatened rivers,
secure federal protections to permanently keep nickel mining out of these
rivers, and support local communities by working closely with local partners to
stop efforts by nickel mining companies to develop historic mining claims in
Southern Oregon and Northern California. But we need you with us.

We must act before these rivers are lost to industrial-scale nickel mining.
Add your name today.
