Here’s a saying that I live by, both as a hot sauce chef and member of Congress:

If you can’t handle a little heat, get out of the kitchen.

I've made a reputation in Washington as a guy who’s not afraid of a hot-button issue or a spicy stance. And if you’re reading this (or anything I’ve written), you can probably handle the heat, too.

I’ve bottled up three of my hottest takes for you today. But before I spill the tea, will you chip in to help me survive the summer fundraising slump and hit my goal this month? [[link removed]]

I sit on the Financial Services Committee. Here are the stats (they’re bad):

- $11.4 billion lost to crypto scams in 2025, a 22% increase from 2024

- Crypto makes up the biggest percentage of cyber scams

- The average victim lost over $62,000

This is controversial to say, but it shouldn’t be : Congress needs to step in ASAP, before more Americans get hurt.

🔥 [[link removed]] The Constitution isn't a sacred text. It's a living document.

The Framers of the Constitution did a fantastic job, but a lot has changed from the 18th century to now.

For instance, California’s population is 68x bigger than Wyoming’s, yet both get two senators. That means a Californian has 1/68th the political power of a Wyomingan. That system is holding us back.

My proposed fix: a constitutional amendment to add 12 at-large senators, elected by national popular vote. Small states keep their guaranteed seats, and large states don’t get trampled. Voila!

The 119th Congress is the third-oldest in American history. The average member of Congress is two decades older than the average American.

That’s how you get legislators that don’t feel the housing crisis. That have never worked with AI before. That see the climate crisis as a “someday” problem.

This isn't about disrespecting anyone's service. It's about electing leaders with skin in the game who understand the challenges on the horizon.

I’m ready to spend two more years taking heat, if it means getting things done for Illinoisans. Will you help me fight fire with fire by investing in my campaign today? [[link removed]]
