John,
The Atlantic came out with a report that Donald Trump said that Americans who died in war are “losers” and “suckers.” He also requested that wounded veterans be kept out of military parades, and called John McCain an “[expletive] loser.”
That’s right -- the men and women (and their families) who have defended our nation, served their country honorably and paid the ultimate sacrifice are allegedly LOSERS to Trump -- a man who has never served a day in his life. These hateful, cruel, and petty words are so insulting to the men and women in uniform who have so bravely fought for our nation.
Is this report in The Atlantic true? Well, Trump has made disparaging comments about our service members in public before, so it is not a stretch to believe that he would make equally as disgusting comments in private. Whom do you believe, officials with the Department of Defense, or a guy who has already lied to the American people 20,000 times?
What’s also ridiculous is that my opponent is a diehard Trump supporter, who refuses to condemn these offensive, disturbing statements about our veterans. I’m sickened by these comments, and also sickened that a candidate for Congress would support someone who could say such demoralizing things.
Could you send a donation over to my campaign now to help my re-election, and ensure that we do not send a Trump-loving candidate to represent us in Congress? →
As a proud former member of the House Armed Services Committee, I have the utmost respect for our men and women and their families who have served this country honorably and courageously. I cannot fathom supporting a president who would make such horrible statements about people who had the courage to serve.
I know that if I’m reelected in November, you can count on me to always hold our military in the highest regard. If you’re able, I’d really appreciate your contribution to my campaign.
In solidarity,
Hank
