Dear John,

I've known Chris Coons for over 20 years. Long before he became Delaware's United States Senator, Chris was a mentor and a friend to me, and we've stayed in close touch and supported each other's work to move our country forward and make our laws more fair and more just.

For more than 20 years, I've always been able to count on Chris. He was a trusted friend I could turn to for advice when I served in the Georgia House of Representatives, and in 2018, when I decided to run for governor of Georgia, Chris was there to support me -- he even traveled down to Georgia to join me on the campaign trail.

I've been lucky to call Chris a friend, and Delaware is lucky to have him as a Senator. Chris throws himself into his work, he's tireless in fighting for everyday Delawareans, and I can tell you firsthand that he's the type of leader we need in this country. He's helped lead the fight to protect and expand voting rights, take on the climate crisis, expand access to quality, affordable health care, and so much more.
