I need to talk with you real quick about our fundraising deadline before this long weekend gets away from us.

I just spoke with our finance team this morning. They told me our online fundraising numbers have significantly dipped this week and we may fall short on our goal before the Labor Day deadline.

Look, we’re entering the final stretch at a precarious moment — three consecutive polls show our Republican opponent within single digits of beating us in this election.

That’s why Republicans are ramping up their misleading attacks against me in an attempt to drown out our campaign — just as many voters begin to actually engage in this election post-Labor Day.

We’re planning a massive paid media campaign for September to defend ourselves from these attacks and get our message out there. But if we miss any of our fundraising goals this month, we might not be able to pay for it — which is why I’m asking:
