Save the Arctic Refuge Before It’s Too Late
Threatening the ancestral lands and traditional ways of life of many Indigenous groups—including the Gwich’in and Inupiat people, who have been living in the Arctic for thousands of years—the U.S. Department of the Interior formally opened up 1.5 million acres of Alaska’s untouched Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas drilling. The unprecedented decision is a shameless attack on cherished wildlands, wildlife, and our climate. While NRDC fights the Trump administration in court, speak out and demand that these plans be stopped immediately.
