Dear Supporter,
When Erin O’Toole won the Conservative leadership last week, we asked you to make sure he kept his word on an important promise: that the Conservative Party would stop taking the pandemic wage subsidy and pay taxpayers back.
That plan was intended for small businesses struggling with the economic shutdown, not for political parties that already receive millions in taxpayer support.
Now, thanks to YOUR efforts, the Conservatives have officially confirmed they have stopped taking the subsidy and will be paying back what they’ve taken!
Can you take two minutes to send a note to O’Toole thanking him for keeping his promise?
We give politicians a rough ride sometimes, so we also want to give them credit where it’s due.
You can email him here: [email protected]
(Meanwhile, the Liberals have also said they’ve stopped taking the subsidy – although they haven’t committed to paying back what they’ve already taken, and the NDP is still receiving it. You can let them know they should start paying it back, by emailing them at [email protected] and [email protected] )
Once again, thousands of Canadians working together to send a message has led to a positive result. Together, let’s continue to keep holding politicians to account!
Thanks for all you do,
- Aaron, Todd, Shannon and the entire CTF team
