[link removed] [[link removed]] John,
Steve wrote to you about the out-of-state group that snuck hidden cameras into Minneapolis polling places during the primary. We want to arm you with the facts, because the whole point of a heavily edited video is to keep you from learning them.
Steve is committed to setting the record straight and protecting our poll workers from stunts like this.
That’s one of the reasons we need to reelect Steve in November. We need to raise another $10k this week to get our message out to voters. Will you chip in $5 or more to help? [[link removed]]

The law they tried to "expose" is called vouching, and Minnesota has had it since 1973. Here's what the video didn't tell you:
• Vouching is rare, it accounted for less than 0.6% of votes cast in the 2024 general election.
• Most people who use it are already registered; they just need to update a name or address.
• It doesn't skip ID. Every voter still has to verify their identity with information from a license or state ID, or the last four digits of their Social Security number.
• Every registration is checked afterward, and any discrepancy is referred to law enforcement.
In other words: the system has guardrails at every step. The group didn't uncover a flaw. They ran into a wall of safeguards on camera and then edited the footage to hide it.
This is exactly the disinformation playbook we've been fighting all year: take something that works, film it deceptively, and hope people don't read past the headline.
Steve reads past the headline. And with your help, he'll keep making sure Minnesotans get the truth. Please chip in today. [[link removed]]
Thanks,
Team Simon
