Friends -
Troops aboard the USS Lincoln were at sea for nearly nine months. Their families described severe exhaustion, rotten food, broken toilets—and the Pentagon denounced their cries as “fake news.”
My colleagues and I have directly called on Secretary Hegseth to explain how this preventable crisis occurred. Today, I am asking you to join us:
Sign on to my letter to demanding answers on the conditions aboard the USS Lincoln. These servicemembers and their families deserve accountability after the mismanagement of their deployment.

Rotted food. Moldy showers. Broken plumbing.
Trump says that these servicemembers weren’t deployed “nearly long enough,” but that five-time draft dodger wouldn’t last a day.
This mental health crisis came after months at sea with no end in sight to Trump’s illegal war.
Meanwhile, Hegseth is pushing dangerous, unauthorized flyovers as “morale boosters.” If he really wants to boost morale, he’d help bring an end to this war.
Our Sailors and Marines volunteered to serve and defend this nation. We owe it to them to provide them with a plan, a strategy and end state to bring them home safely. This is simply not how we treat the men and women we ask to carry out this mission.
I will never stop advocating for our nation’s heroes, but I can’t do this work alone. When we all speak out together, we are much more powerful.
So please, add your name to my letter demanding answers on the USS Lincoln. Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth must be held accountable for the preventable conditions they enabled through their incompetence.

Thank you for using your voice to advocate for men and women in uniform today.
