August has been a big month in IA-03:

Republicans placed a massive ad buy in our district. Race forecasters upgraded our chances of flipping this seat. And Zach Nunn went up on TV with attack ads against me.

It's easy to get caught up in the noise, so I wanted to give you an inside look at how I actually spent my August: on the ground, talking to Iowans. (Still the most important part of this campaign.)

🌽The Sweet Corn Festival. There's nothing like an Iowa summer. I spent the day with families and community members, hearing directly about what matters to them.

🎡The Iowa State Fair. I met Iowans from across the district, heard what's on their minds, and ate approximately my body weight in fair food.

🚪And, of course, we've been knocking doors — because no matter how much money Republicans spend on TV, there's still no substitute for sitting down with a voter and listening.

That's the campaign I'm running. And judging by what I'm hearing on the ground, Iowans are ready for a change.

That's why this race keeps getting more competitive, why Republicans are spending so heavily against me, and why I'm more determined than ever to win it.

But we need the resources to keep doing this — reaching voters, knocking doors, and fighting back against the attacks coming our way.
