I'm sorry to email you over the long Labor Day Weekend, especially to ask for money, but I have to be honest with you right now -- I'm getting worried...

 

We spent so much time and energy filming and producing our very first television commercial so that I could convey who I am, who I'm fighting for, and summarize my campaign message all in a short video ad.

 

The final product is something I'm proud of, that truly came from the heart, and that I feel represents me. But when my team told me yesterday that Pete Stauber is also planning on putting his TV ad on the air the same day as mine, it was a bit unsettling.

 

You see, as someone who entered this race as the underdog Democratic challenger, and without taking any corporate PAC money, it hasn't been easy getting my name and face out there without the billionaire donors that my opponent has funding him. But we've done such a great job so far thanks to grassroots supporters like you who have helped spread my message and built this movement from the ground up. And this TV commercial was only made possible because of your generous gifts and outpouring of support.

 

But now, in order to make sure that all of our hard work is worthwhile and this commercial is effective, we've got to invest a substantial amount to pay for broadcasting and remain competitive to Stauber's massive advertising budget.
