Full disclosure, this is kind of a longer-than-usual
email, John,
and I’ll need to step up onto my soapbox for a minute. I hope you’ll take
the time to read it, because it’s something I feel pretty strongly about.

But if you’re in a hurry, or you’re already jazzed about this campaign and
ready to get involved, [ [link removed] ]please consider chipping in a quick grassroots
donation before you go to win one of the tightest races in the entire
country.

Hey, thanks for sticking around. 👋

On a long list of things I love about the Iowa State Fair, believe it or
not, the food is actually only my second favorite. It’s close, though.

Really, the best part is the people — Iowans from every corner of the
state coming out to share in the festivities with their neighbors and
enjoy the things that make our state great.

Iowa is different, because folks here tend to vote more with their morals
and beliefs than they do with party affiliation. I truly believe that’s a
huge part of why Iowa is so special: Iowans are smart, think for
themselves, and work for the betterment of their communities.

Can’t say that about a lot of places these days.

That’s why it can be so jarring when bad actors push dangerous rhetoric in
an attempt to divide us and pit us against our neighbors.

That’s true when it comes to partisan insiders in state government, and
it’s true when it comes to kids following me and my team around the State
Fair shouting at us instead of engaging in an honest conversation about
the issues.

That’s not what Iowans want. Simply put, there’s a better way of doing
things and expressing disagreements with each other.

We as Iowans have a long, storied history of talking with one another and
hashing things out — even (and especially) when we disagree.

That’s why I make it a point to hand the mic to Republicans at my town
halls and keep them open to anyone who wants to participate.

I’m running for governor because Iowans are sick and tired of partisan
politics and a system that puts greed and party over Iowans and our
communities.

But we’re coming up on the end of the month, and digital fundraising has
dipped this weekend. We’re running out of time to turn things around.

[ [link removed] ]If you’re ready to put a decade’s worth of partisan politics in the
rearview so we can move our state forward together, I hope you’ll chip in
a few bucks to support my campaign for governor today.

If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your
donation will go through immediately.
