John,

We’re a few days into the new month, so before things start to pick up, I wanted to send off a quick note to you all about what’s in store for us over these last few weeks of the campaign.

But if you don’t have time to read my whole note, it all boils down to this: September and October will be the most critical months of this entire campaign -- especially this month, since September 30th is our last FEC quarter deadline before Election Day.

That means we’ll need to match the spending coming from our opponent’s dark money backers, so could you chip in today to help us out? In a race this competitive, every last dollar counts -- so we’d be grateful for anything you can afford.

As you may have noticed from some of our other messages to you this month, the special interest groups and dark money PACs who are backing our opponent have ramped up their spending over the past few weeks.

That spending is only going to increase from here on out, so we need to make sure our campaign is in a strong position to fight back and eventually send Jared back to Congress in November.

Over these last few weeks, every dollar we raise will almost immediately be spent on crucial campaign operations -- like organizing and turning out supporters, spreading Jared’s message, and contacting voters all across the district.

None of that will come cheap though, John. Can we count on you to help us secure the resources we’ll need to win this race and send a true fighter for Mainers back to Congress?
