Governor Hogan announced that Maryland will enter Stage Three of the state’s gradual and evidence-based recovery plan, authorizing the safe reopening of indoor theaters, outdoor venues, and the expansion of capacity limits at retail and religious facilities. This comes after Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate, hospitalizations, and cases per 100,000 have all hit new lows in recent weeks.
In addition to spearheading an interstate testing compact to secure millions of rapid antigen tests, Maryland is providing national leadership on contact tracing, becoming one of the first states to deploy a new exposure notification tool in collaboration with Apple and Google.
