John,
Joe Biden may be leading in the polls now, but it is still too close for comfort, with Biden's lead within the polling margin of error in crucial battleground states.
Will you chip in and make sure we leave nothing to chance and beat Trump? [[link removed]]
Thank you for your crucial support,
Robert
Dear John,
A new wave of polls has just come out that were conducted after the Jacob Blake shooting and the Republican National Convention, and the results show Joe Biden's lead in national polls has shrunk to just 6-7 points.
Now, you might be thinking, “Is this troubling? Isn't six or seven points still a pretty big lead?”
Here's the problem: Our elections are not decided on a national level. If they were, Hillary Clinton would be president right now.
Our elections are decided state by state, and in crucial battleground states—Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin—Biden's lead is within the polling margin of error.
And most concerning of all is that Trump's race-baiting “law and order” messaging might be working.
In order to beat back Trump's surge, we need to battle Trump in the spaces where his racist messaging currently meets the least resistance: on social media.
My team here at Inequality Media Civic Action has built one of the largest audiences of any progressive group on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. And we're rapidly growing on TikTok. We have the ability to respond to Trump's lies, spread the truth, and reach millions of voters at the push of a button.
Over the next two months, we will be ramping up our operation by hiring more editors, developers, and strategists to get the truth out to the public and make sure that people's newsfeeds aren't dominated by right-wing lies and conspiracy theories.
But unlike Trump and his right-wing allies, we do not have giant corporations and billionaires funding our work. We rely on donations from everyday people like you, chipping in $10, $20, or $50 at a time to power our work.
Will you make a donation today to help fight back against Trump's race-baiting lies and make sure the American people know the truth as they cast their ballots this fall? [[link removed]]
Thank you for helping us get the truth out,
Robert Reich
