Commissioners approve 2027 mountain lion season
Hunters can expect a mountain lion season in 2027. The season was approved during an Aug. 14 meeting of Nebraska Game and Parks commissioners, who also approved a 2027 bighorn sheep season and changes to park regulations. Catch up on other meeting items at the link below.

Last public boat ramp at Lake Mac has closed; watch out for mud
Boaters, take note: Due to low water levels, we have closed the last public boat ramp at Lake McConaughy. You'll find the best access to the lake through three private boat launch vendors; call ahead to schedule.
Once you're on the lake, stay alert — don't travel west of Van's Lakeview, as boats are getting stuck in mud flats.
Despite lower waters, Lake Mac still is holding more water than any other lake in Nebraska, and it continues to offer plenty of opportunities to boat, fish, paddle, swim and relax on white-sand beaches.
