Dear GPC Members,
Thank you for your collective efforts to strengthen and sustain primary HIV prevention since the launch of the Global HIV Prevention Coalition (GPC) in 2017. Together, we have made significant progress in reducing new HIV infections, strengthening political commitment, and sustaining investment in primary prevention.
Shifts in the political and financial landscape, alongside the emergence of long-acting HIV prevention, prompted consultations among GPC members and a proposal to bring together the Global HIV Prevention Coalition (GPC) and the Coalition to Accelerate Access to Long-Acting PrEP and transition into the Global HIV Prevention Coalition Plus (GPC+).
GPC+ will be a strengthened, country- and community-led platform that builds on the achievements of the GPC and the long-acting PrEP coalition. This transition introduces a more sustainable, responsive model for coordinating primary prevention, aligned with the evolving financial and political landscape. The coalition will focus on four strategic functions: country leadership and enablement; financing and investment optimization; guidance, data, and tools for decision-making; and strategic leadership and global alignment.
As part of the transition to GPC+, we are pleased to announce the recruitment of a Head of the GPC+ Secretariat.
Position Overview
We encourage you to share this opportunity widely within your networks and with qualified candidates who may be interested in leading this exciting new chapter for global HIV prevention.
We look forward to working with all of you as we embark on this new phase of collaboration, innovation, and strengthened country and community leadership through GPC+.
With best regards,
Global HIV Prevention Coalition Plus (GPC+) Transition Team
