John,
This afternoon was the first forum of our general election campaign and our opponent refused to show up. Just like Joe Biden has tried to run a presidential campaign from his basement and as Nancy Pelosi has advised him to not debate, so too is Candace Valenzuela attempting to avoid debates and direct questions from the voters of our district.
A requirement to be a good public servant is to be available to meet with people, see what they are going through, and understand the specific needs of their families and neighborhoods – this is not something you can do sitting in your bathroom and looking into a computer screen.
Our district has amazing frontline workers including police officers, firefighters, nurses, grocery store workers, and many other professions who go to work every day serving our communities.
Apparently, Candace doesn’t believe the responsibility of being a U.S. Representative involves actually showing up. If you can’t show up, be held accountable, and talk openly and honestly with people, then you aren’t qualified for this job.
