Systemic racism is a public health crisis. That’s why Ayanna — in partnership with Rep. Barbara Lee and Senator Elizabeth Warren — introduced bicameral legislation, the Anti-Racism in Public Health Act, to address the structural racism that has devastated Black and Brown communities.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated racial disparities in health outcomes, and it is past time that we recognize and address structural racism and police brutality as the public health crises they are.
This legislation is the first bill of its kind. It would expand federal research into structural racism and its impact on Black and Brown communities. In addition, it will require the federal government to develop anti-racist health policies and take a public health approach to eradicating police violence.
Systemic racism is a public health crisis and our response must match the scale of this challenge. Add your name now to join Ayanna, Elizabeth Warren, and Barbara Lee in the fight to dismantle the deep inequities and disparities fueled by systemic racism.
Thank you for taking action,
The A-Team
