Dear AFGE Warriors,
As we prepare for a reflective Labor Day Weekend, the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments is honored to announce its very first Black Labor Week, a week dedicated to providing education and empowerment. These events are open to everyone interested in increasing their knowledge and awareness.
Our first annual Black Labor Week will kick off Monday, September 14th with a week of interactive and inspirational events. Our rich schedule of event are as follows:
Monday, September 14th from 7:30 – 9:30 PM EST: Black History: Race and Racism in American
Tuesday, September 15th from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM EST: History of the Labor Movement in Connection with the Civil Rights Movement
Wednesday, September 16th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM EST: Protest to Policy
Thursday, September 17th from 7:00 – 10:00 PM EST: The 2020 Census: Making Black Voices Count
Friday, September 18th from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM EST: The Power of the Black Vote
Please click the links above to register for events of interest. All trainings will be hosted on Hopin, an online conference platform. Instructions on how to use this platform will be shared prior to the scheduled events.
