JOhn,
We have an important update on Rise Against Hunger’s response to the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia. As families continue to face the immediate and long-term impacts of these disasters, critical relief is moving now — and your support is needed to continue our response efforts. ([link removed] )
In Venezuela, a container of emergency supplies for the Ministry of Health has arrived successfully, providing critical assistance to more than 75,000 people. The shipment included over 285,000 meals, surgical and trauma supplies, mental health medications, first aid supplies, over-the-counter medicines for adults and children, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other essential relief items.
In Colombia, toothbrushes, hygiene kits and over-the-counter medications are expected to ship this week, reaching more than 30,000 people. We need donor support to help get these critical supplies to communities in need. ([link removed] ) We are working directly with health officials to identify the most urgent needs, including trauma and surgical supplies, medications and other medical aid.
The need is urgent, and our response is ongoing. We will continue working alongside our partners and government leaders in both countries to deliver critical supplies now and support communities as they recover. Your gift to our Global Emergency Relief Fund can help us respond quickly when and where help is needed most.
