The Maine Department of Marine Resources announces the adoption of the following final rule: 

*Chapter 11: Scallops [Scallop Drag Apprenticeship Program]

CONCISE SUMMARY: *This rulemaking amends the limited entry system for scallop licenses. Scallop dive licenses will be issued through a license lottery held annually, as is currently the case. Scallop drag licenses will be issued through a license lottery annually, but individuals selected through the lottery will need to complete a Scallop Drag Apprenticeship Program before they are eligible to purchase their scallop drag license.
