John,
Two weeks ago, Senate Republicans confirmed Donald Trump's former personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, to serve as Attorney General — a decision I voted NO on.
Blanche is unqualified for this job, and he's already shown us exactly where his loyalties lie. Not with the rule of law. Not with the American people. But with Donald Trump and the people around him. He was his personal attorney, and I have no doubt he will use the office of the Attorney General to keep cleaning up Trump's messes.
And yet, Senate Republicans fell in line and confirmed him anyway.
As long as I'm in the Senate, I will keep showing up, speaking out, and voting NO on reckless policies and any nominee who has no business holding positions this powerful. But as long as the Senate majority is at the beck and call of Donald Trump, this is going to keep happening.
Voting no isn't enough when we don't have the votes to stop the GOP, John. Perhaps now more than ever, it's absolutely critical that we take back the Senate majority and put it back in the hands of the commonsense majority. In order to do that though, we need to ensure this campaign is in fighting shape from now through November.
John, with our September 15 primary now just weeks away, there's no time to waste. Every day between now and Election Day matters — and so does hitting the fundraising goals that allow us to keep reaching voters across our state. As things stand, we have a critical mid-month fundraising deadline at midnight tonight, and we're still falling a bit short of where I'd like us to be to ensure we meet our goal. I know you hear from us a lot about deadlines, but this close to our primary, we simply cannot afford to lag behind.
I’ll keep fighting Republicans’ efforts to rubber-stamp Donald Trump’s unqualified nominees. If you're able, chip in $5 — or whatever amount makes sense for you — before midnight tonight to help me win this race and give Democrats a chance to take back the Senate. → [link removed]
Let's go,
Chris
