:
John,
Each year, hundreds of millions of pounds of glyphosate are sprayed on American farms, lawns and parks.[1]
That's no small amount -- and it's not without risk.
Over the years, multiple studies have linked glyphosate to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and other cancers, and the International Agency for Research on Cancer considers the chemical a probable carcinogen.[2]
Yet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the federal agency responsible for protecting public health, hasn't taken it off shelves.
It's time for the EPA to do its job.
Tell the EPA: Pause the use of glyphosate unless and until it's proven safe.

Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum herbicide, meaning that it's designed to kill nearly every plant it touches. It's sprayed on everything -- from the parks our kids play in to the farms that feed the country.[3]
While the EPA maintains that glyphosate is safe when used as directed, tens of thousands of Americans have come forward with a different story, alleging that the herbicide caused their cancer.[4]
As a result, more than $10 billion has been awarded in verdicts and settlements combined -- all while tons of glyphosate continue to be sprayed on our food and fields.[5]
Tell the EPA: A chemical this dangerous shouldn't be on the market.

The EPA has the power to do something about this. It can pause the use of glyphosate unless and until it's proven safe by independent, publicly-funded studies.
And that's exactly what U.S. PIRG is asking for -- because when so many Americans have gotten sick and believe glyphosate is to blame, a pause on the chemical is the least the EPA can do.
Public pressure has moved the EPA before, and we can do it again.
Tell the EPA: Pause the use of glyphosate unless and until it's proven safe.
