In celebration of Black History Month 2026, NYCI is proud to host Beyond Welcome: Creating Intentional Communities ([link removed]) , a day of exploration and conversation on ethnicity, identity, belonging, and power in youth work settings. We will come together to explore what it really means to be included in a community, fully and intentionally, with a focus on building spaces where every young person has the opportunity to flourish.

This event will create space for conversations about the experiences of black young people in Ireland, while also celebrating black joy, resilience, achievement and leadership.

What will I get out of attending?

The day will be filled with interactive opportunities to
* connect, reflect, and learn with and from each other
* gather practical tools through interactive workshops
* gain fresh perspectives and insights from keynote speakers and panel discussions
* and more!

This Black History Month, take the opportunity to reflect, learn and strengthen your practice alongside youth workers from across the sector. Together, we can build youth work spaces where Black young people experience genuine belonging, representation and support.
