A toss-up. In Louisiana. In a race that could decide the control of the U.S. Senate.
It might be shocking to the media and pundits, but to us it’s no surprise. Since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, and MAGA Governor Jeff Landry canceled our congressional elections to ram through a gerrymandered map that eliminated one of our majority-Black districts, a backlash has been building.
The people of Louisiana see MAGA, with full control of the state and federal government, running our state into the ground. Runaway inflation. More foreign wars. An economy on the brink of collapse. And instead of earning votes at the polls, MAGA is trying to secure their reign through an authoritarian power grab.
The people of Louisiana are pissed off. And they’re making their voices heard.
Louisiana Democrats have been on the ground, meeting with voters face to face and turning their frustration into action. Last month we launched our No More Silence: Road to the Polls, an 18-city tour to register voters, recruit No Party voters, and make sure every Louisianian knows how, when, and where to vote. Everywhere we went, rooms were packed with voters ready to vote Blue this November.
