Dear Comrades,

As we prepare for the arrival of fall, we reflect on an exciting summer for DSA and its progressive allies around the country. The unprecedented surge of primary victories marks a turning point not just for the organization but for American politics, and sheds a light of hope that a better world is possible beyond the dismal years of the Trump presidency. As DSA nationally has grown in prominence, we too have seen a wellspring of support and excitement in our own community.

Santa Fe DSA has seen an influx of new members, each eager to lend their talents and grow personally in the movement. Along with a growing interest from aligned organizations to collaborate on local issues. Internally Santa Fe and the other chapters in New Mexico are moving towards greater coordination to more effectively take on statewide campaigns. The newfound excitement was also well expressed in our chapter elections in which we welcomed five new members to the chapter Organizing Committee. We are eager to continue building on this momentum and putting enthusiasm to work: building up the structure of Santa Fe DSA, creating new ways for members to engage, and raising our ambitions for what is achievable in Santa Fe.

Let this summer be just the beginning of the DSA wave and may Santa Fe DSA, along with our allies, make some headlines of our own. If you have not already, please consider joining the DSA today! and for current members, stay tuned for new developments in the chapter as the new OC begins its transition.

In Solidarity,

Santa Fe DSA Co-Chair🌹

Yucca Petition for Public Power

Please sign this petition from YUCCA urging New Mexico’s elected leaders and the State Investment Council to seize an historic opportunity to invest in our energy future. Instead of selling PNM, our largest utility, to the private equity giant Blackstone, we can replace Blackstone's unlawful purchase of $400 million of PNM stock with a $400 million investment by our State Investment Council. This is a first step in giving citizens a stronger voice in the infrastructure that powers our lives. The petition currently has 766 signatures and goal is to get 1000 signers as soon as possible. We could hit that goal if all of us sign today!
