What an email to write! Thank you SO MUCH for your support of our campaign. With your help, we accomplished something truly special last week and made Peggy Flanagan our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Minnesota.
For every donation, door knocked, volunteer shift, phone call made – we are so deeply grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being in this fight with us.
All told, a network of six dark money super PACs spent about $20 million to defeat Peggy Flanagan. This massive influx of spending singlehandedly made this race the most expensive primary in Minnesota history.
Our campaign was successful because it was powered by people. Peggy refused to accept a dime of corporate PAC money and relied on grassroots donations instead.
Our team held over 300 events in 112 communities across Minnesota. And we built a volunteer base of over 6,000 Minnesotans who organized in their own communities to support Peggy’s campaign.
All that work paid off: We saw the highest turnout for a state primary, ever. And Peggy earned more votes than the entire field of Republican Senate candidates, combined.
Most importantly, we campaigned on the issues that really mattered: helping people afford the lives they want to live. Minnesotans are ready for progressive policies that can remake our country for the better, like Medicare for All, banning prior authorization practices in health care, and ripping ICE apart.
I am so proud of not just the result, but the way in which we ran this campaign. And I’m ready to fight for another 78 days and defeat MAGA Michele Tafoya in November. Are you with me?
