The New York Times recently analyzed federal contracting records and found that the National Park Service is using at least $67 million in park entrance fees to pay for Donald’s beautification projects in Washington.

Almost $60 million of that is going to repair nine ornamental fountains in the capital. Another $7 million is going toward the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which is being renovated at a total cost of $13.1 million, seven times what Donald said the job would cost.

For years, Washington projects took 5 percent or less of the Park Service’s recreation fee account. Under the Trump Regime, they take more than 90 percent.

Meanwhile, spending on park projects outside Washington has dropped roughly 70 percent this fiscal year, a decrease of $854 million, and the Park Service has lost close to 25 percent of its permanent staff since 2025.
