Friend, I want to highlight something A.G. Holder told Democrats in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago:
"This is an existential presidential election. I get that. But so are the races happening down the ballot... On a day-to-day basis, our lives are really more impacted by state legislators, by governors, than we are by the person who is the president of the United States." |
The point A.G. Holder was making is that we MUST pay attention to what's happening down the ballot this year. Not only are state and local decisions more likely to affect your life, but this year those elections will take an outsized importance. This year we elect the officials who will draw the maps that will determine whether Democrats actually have a fair shot of winning state legislative and congressional elections for the next decade.
Friend, a lot of groups are spending money on the presidential race. But when it comes to down-ballot races, the NDRC is one of the few making investments. And frankly, in states like Florida and Texas, Democrats are coming up short.
That's why I'm coming to you. Will you pitch in immediately to help us make the greatest possible impact in state and local races -- before it's too late?
