Folks,
I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep on saying it -- as a clean energy scientist and member of Congress, stopping climate change is my first, second, and third priority.
If we fail to address this ongoing crisis, our families, our economy, and our planet will pay the price. That’s why I introduced the Efficient Vehicle Leadership Act to begin decarbonizing the transportation sector -- which in 2018 was the largest single source of emissions in the United States.
This crucial legislation would reduce emissions and save Americans their hard-earned money by creating a financial incentive to purchase cleaner, more fuel efficient vehicles -- allowing consumers to save money at the dealer AND at the gas pump.
Fuel efficient vehicles are better for the environment and better for our wallets -- it’s a win-win situation. But politicians in the pocket of big polluters won’t act unless we hold their feet to the fire -- that’s why I need 3,000 signers to call on Congress to take this necessary step to reduce vehicle emissions and combat climate change >>
This is a problem that can’t wait until it becomes politically easy to take action.
No more words. We need action now,
Sean Casten
