[[link removed]] [[link removed]]John,

For generations, wildlife champions like you have supported our work to recover
cherished wildlife, protect clean air and water, and keep public lands in public
hands. In the spirit of uniting all Americans to ensure wildlife thrive, we are
proud to join with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored
People (NAACP), national partners, and local activists to host the National Townhall on Environmental Justice & Frontline Communities
[[link removed]] to elevate the voices of communities facing the brunt of the climate crisis,
toxic pollution, and COVID-19 outbreak.

This public health crisis has shone a spotlight on how air pollution, climate
change-fueled natural disasters, and lack of access to clean water
disproportionately harm Black, Brown, Indigenous and low-wealth communities.

Healthy communities and healthy habitats go hand-in-hand. Please join us for the
livestream of this historic virtual townhall to hear from activists from across
the country. These leaders will speak on how federal recovery legislation can
rebuild our economy and fight climate change by intentionally investing in the
communities most impacted by climate change and fossil fuel pollution. Removing
the barriers to clean air, water, and the outdoors—many of which are rooted in
purposefully discriminatory federal policies—is a crucial and necessary step in
charting an equitable path to recovery.

From investment in green jobs to restore flood-mitigating wetlands to better
enforcement of federal pollution safeguards, Congress can begin to address the
historic disinvestment in these communities on the frontlines of the ongoing
public health and climate crises. And as a conservation champion,
John, we wanted you to have a unique
opportunity to listen and learn about how our nation's economic recovery can
invest in our underserved communities, tackle climate change, and set America on
a path to a healthier and more just future.

We hope to see you there and continue to join us in our fight for healthy
communities and habitats.
