Hi, it's Rebecca Bennett — the Democratic nominee in New Jersey's 7th district.

Before running for Congress and after serving in the Navy, I stumbled into healthcare. It wasn't what I set out to do, but in retrospect, it makes perfect sense with the kind of person I am: someone who runs at problems.

I know I don't need to tell you that our healthcare system has a lot of them, but I believe we can make it functional for all of us. I tell you this as someone with ground-level operator experience of how the system works.

When I first got my start in healthcare, it was through a program that helped transition veterans out of the service.

I spent a lot of time working in oncology and had the opportunity to work on the company's first commercial cell therapy. I took that through FDA approval for a blood cancer called multiple myeloma.

After a few years there, I decided to transition to the startup space to focus on women's health. Reproductive rights are incredibly important, but we also have to make sure we're supporting women across our entire lifespans.

Did you know that women weren't even required to be in clinical trials until about 30 years ago? Talk about a problem to run at…
