This week, the Democratic primary got a little more crowded -- and potentially a lot more expensive.

Tom Steyer announced that he's running for president, and that he plans to spend at least $100 million of his own money to try to win.

Look: It's good to have a competitive primary.

But here's the thing: We need our candidates to compete to have the best ideas -- not just to write themselves the biggest checks.

Can you chip in to help keep our campaign's message front and center in this race? Your support matters because Elizabeth isn't self-funding. She doesn't have a Super PAC, and she doesn't want one. And we don't host any fundraisers where wealthy donors write big checks to spend time with her behind closed doors.

The Democratic primary shouldn't be decided by billionaires, whether they're funding Super PACs or funding themselves.

If you're a billionaire, you can already buy yourself a mansion, a private island, and even a yacht to get yourself there.

But you shouldn't be able to buy yourself the White House -- not without a fair fight on a level playing field.

And the strongest Democratic nominee in 2020 will have a coalition that's powered by a grassroots movement.

Nobody is going to write a nine-figure check -- in fact, our average donation is $28. And we're proud of that. Chip in to help build this grassroots movement the right way -- with grassroots donations.

Thanks for being in this fight,

Team Warren
